Students are assigned a
school counselor who works with
the student throughout his/her high school career. Counselors
assist students in a number of ways:
Counseling and support with academic and personal-social
issues
Assist students investigating colleges, the world of work
and other post-secondary options
Track student progress, credit attainment and status of
Capstone and Portfolio work
Communicate with parents, teachers and resource personnel to
best support a student’s academic growth
Help students develop the necessary skills to become
critical thinkers, problem solvers and productive and
compassionate young adults
