Welcome to Oak Haven Elementary School and the 2008 – 2009 school year!  Two words describe Oak Haven’s students, faculty, and families - committed and creative!

Our shared vision for what is important makes a significant difference in why our school is effective.  So, as we begin the 2008 – 2009 school year we will continue to work hard to give our students the very best education possible.

Oak Haven is definitely a school that is filled with the spirit of creativity.  Families and teachers work together to put activities and programs into place that will have a lasting effect on our students. Our work with Exemplars and Everyday Math, and the successful implementation of a comprehensive literacy program that includes Fundations & Trophies in grades K – 2 are just a few of the ways that we enhance our ability to provide powerful instruction to our students!  Our school continues to be a leader at the elementary level in the area of technology for the success of all students and this year we have put together a Leadership Team made up of Oak Haven parents and staff who will participate in training in a program called Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBS).  The training and implementation of this program will take place over three years – but our Leadership Team is starting their work right away!  Their goal is to create a school-wide environment that is positive, preventative, predictable and effective for the behavior of all children. And to these valued Oak Haven efforts we are proud to say that Oak Haven has been identified as a High Performing School based on student achievement on state testing!

Oak Haven is truly an outstanding school!  If the early years of a child’s education are truly foundational to fostering a belief in and value for life-long learning, then Oak Haven students have and will continue to be served well in this special place!
