to reinforce concepts previously taught to determine if
GLE's have been met.
-
All students will engage in daily problem solving
activities that are modeled with clear expectations.
1) Through
repeated modeling and practice students will be able to
choose a problem solving strategy and apply the steps
necessary to solve the problem.
2) Student
will become familiar with math vocabulary using the
strategy of a “Word Wall.”
3) Students
will become familiar with the problem solving scoring
rubric in order to self-evaluate.
Engaging Families and
Community

Once a trimester families will be invited to participate
in workshops during the school day that will combine an
informative session for parents around Everyday Math and
problem solving concepts with an in-class opportunity
for parents to actively participate in lessons with
their children based on the workshop material.
-
Teachers will
send a classroom newsletter home at the beginning of
each math unit that includes math vocabulary words,
explanation of skills and answers to home link
assignments.
