As we "fall" into November, children are very busy learning the responsibilities of being a first grader. In reading, children are building their site word vocabulary. They are also using strategies from Fundations to apply to new words. Thinking about our reading and making self-connections is another new strategy that children will be using.  In math, students are learning to count pennies, nickels and soon dimes will be introduced.  In addition, they will be learning to tell time to the half hour. Thank you to the parents who attended open house.  Your support is vital to your child's success.

Our science students will be working with us on Monday mornings.  We are beginning our unit on organisms. We are very busy learners!
