Our first book reports are due on November 7^th.  This trimester’s report is a pizza book report. Directions were sent home and the round paper for the report is in class. Your child can ask for it when they are ready.

We finished all four tanks of the Biomes unit in Science.  The children have learned to classify the creatures by the way they move, feed, and protect themselves. Biomes will return to Oak Haven on November 12^th to do a follow-up presentation with the children.  We will then begin a new unit in science called Variables.  In this unit the children will conduct different experiments and change variables within the experiment. They will sharpen their observation skills and learn to collect and analyze data as they go.

In Social Studies we are finishing up our Native American units.  The dwellings will be on display in the front of the building until after Parent/Teacher conferences and then they will be sent home. If you come in to see them be sure to check out the totem poles that the fifth graders created with Miss Burke and Mrs. Hemindinger in Art class. They are wonderful!

We wanted to thank all of the parents who were able to attend Parent/Teacher conferences. These conferences are a great opportunity to stay connected about your child’s educational growth.
