Mrs. Hemendinger - Tuesday and Thursday
Check out the phenomenal art work our Oak Haven students create
in our foyer!

Thank you,
boys and girls, for remembering to "DRESS FOR A MESS" on your
art day! If you want to bring in an art shirt or apron to use
and share, please do so. We can always use hand soap in pump
bottles and kleenex if you would like to donate anything to the
art studio. As always, the children are doing an amazing job
creating their own works of art.
The primary
grades have been exploring the world of Henri Matisse by
creating paper cuttings of their own. The intermediate grades
have been painting, doing still-life drawings, and looking at
portraits by Pablo Picasso. The fifth grade is enjoying creating
plaster totem poles with our student teacher from RIC, Ms.Burke.
I will let her tell you a little something about herself.
Hello
everyone, my name is Lauren Burke, and I am enjoying working
with your children at Oak Haven. I will be graduating from
Rhode Island College this spring with a second bachelor's degree
in art education. After earning my first degree in studio art
and French from the University of Virginia, I worked as a
graphic designer for seven years. I am excited about combining
my skills as an artist with a degree in teaching to help your
children learn and grow!
