Mrs. Hemendinger - Tuesday and Thursday
Check out the phenomenal art work our Oak Haven students create
in our foyer!

We have been
very busy in the world of art at Oak Haven. Last month,
Coventry Hosted the State-wide PTA Reflections Art Exhibit at
the Paine Field Recreation Center and we had many beautiful
pieces of artwork from Oak Haven on display. Congratulations
boys and girls!
Our many snow
storms this winter have inspired some beautiful paintings in the
art room. Kindergarten children made some fantastic snowy
forests using paper and paint. First graders painted some
terrific snowmen and the third grade students have finished some
wonderful winter landscapes. Their landscapes were inspired by
the paintings of the American artist, Grandma Moses.
Second
graders created self-portraits in the snow using oil pastels and
paint. Their scarves, hats, mittens and ear muffs really help
to give their portraits that wintery feeling.
The fourth
grade classes have begun making looms and weaving beautiful wall
hangings. Any donations of yarn would be greatly appreciated!
We would be glad to make use of any left over yarn you might
have!
Fifth grade
students have been creating colorful chameleons. We have been
looking at the artwork of Franz Marc to create pictures which
balance warm and cold colors. As always, thank you for sharing
your children with me. It is a pleasure to help inspire their
artistic talents. Lastly, please remember to "DRESS FOR A MESS"
on art days. |
