Mission
The Tiogue educational community is dedicated to striving
for excellence in all of our students. It is the
challenge of our school to ensure success in a nurturing,
child-centered environment; to set high academic standards;
and to develop a sense of responsibility toward our
community. Tiogue School places an emphasis on
cooperation, respect for diversity, self-worth and academic
distinction in an educational setting that meets the
challenges of the future.

Blue Ribbon School
In May of 1999, Tiogue School was recognized as
a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States
Department of Education. Senator Jack Reed noted, "It is a
highly regarded distinction to be named a Blue Ribbon School.
Through an intensive selection process beginning at the state
level and continuing through a federal review panel of 100 top
educators, 266 of the very best public and private schools in
the nation were identified as deserving of this special
recognition."
Tiogue School seeks
to reach out to every student and to engage parents, businesses
and community leaders in the education of our children.
Teachers work in teams to develop appropriate but rigorous
standards for all students. Senator Reed stated we were "a
school committed to a process of continuous improvement with a
focus on high student achievement. Most importantly,
Tiogue recognizes the value of the larger community and seeks
its support and involvement.."
We are proud to have
this honor bestowed on us. We hope that Tiogue School will
continue to be a shining example of excellence in education for
years to come.
